Announcing Spring mini sessions! OCTOBER 9th & 10TH 2010*

Why have your family portraits taken in Spring? Well firstly because it’s NOT winter anymore! Yay! Secondly, because it’s not yet Summer so the jeans and sleeves you prefer to wear won’t make you sweat and you don’t have to worry about whether your legs are tanned enough or your arms are toned enough! And thirdly, it’s nearly Christmas! Oh yes it is! At the very least, October is the perfect time to have portraits made if you want an annual session to capture how your family has changed in a year – and if you have distant family who would love to see too. With that in mind, why not pop your gorgeous family on a customised Christmas card?

Which brings me to the mammoth list of things you will get for a teensy-tiny $295!

* a 30 – 45 minute photo shoot

* 5 high resolution images on CD to print unlimited copied from (can make enlargements and canvases up to 30″x40″!! That’s HUGE!) You will be given a gallery of 8-10 fully edited and polished images to choose from.

* Web-sized files of your purchased images, ideal for emailing and Facebook and any other online sharing. Cos let’s face it, if you are reading this, you are using a computer and you might be one of the majority who share their lives with friends and family over the magical internet. So files made specifically for this purpose are handy!

* 5×7 prints of each image purchased to serve as a reference for when you have your own prints made. (“Honey, were you a little purple in the face the day we had our photos done? No? Let me look at the reference print before I head back to the printer to show them their error!”)

* Especially for this offer – A custom Christmas card ON CD. You will get a file to make photo cards (a 6×4 print with your design on it) AND a file containing the design for a press printed folding card! You can choose which to get and if y0u require it assistance, you can have your press printed card design uploaded to Domayne PhotoStation online where you simply decide the size and quantity of cards you’d like and order them yourself.

Today I was so very lucky to meet a brand new little guy and his sweet sister. Today’s shoots were actually commissioned by a local business and so each little person had their own separate session in order to get the shots we needed. In any case, I love meeting the people I do and love the different ways things seem to fall together. I know I have said it so many times, but I seriously have the coolest job in the world!!

They Came From MILES Away! | Brisbane Family Photography

From Central Queensland to Tasmania, this amazing family came from the corners of the country to be together and at the same time have some family photos taken. As always, it is an honor to photograph that one special member of the family without whom, all those bright eyed children would never have come to be. So, from a couple of country kids up a tree to a tricky little princess who was going to do it all her way, we spent a couple of hours under the Storey Bridge capturing memories to last until the tiniest in this family reaches her great grandmother’s age. That’s the magic – and the importance – of photography.

And this is what the boys had to do before they were allowed up the tree!

These two sneaked away for a special, quiet moment…

A candid moment that I couldn’t resist! I hope you guys remember this with a smile This is what being two is all about!!

It’s humbling to imagine what these eyes have seen and satisfying to know that some of the best of that was with her in the park last Saturday

I am just digging through my list of lame excuses as to why I haven’t posted in aaaaages. And well, apart from the two weeks of school holidays, they are all a little bit too lame to bother trying, so I will just say sorry and we can all move on, right?

I’m sorry.

The photos I am going to be posting over the next few days were taken during a workshop I attended in mid-May (yeah, I know. See above lame excuses). Still, I really want to share them because I really do like them, shot them myself (sometimes workshop images are set up by the teachers – this was not the case here) and used many of the fabulous things my teachers taught me to make them look the way they do. And I know you’ll like them too

I was so lucky to photograph this beautiful family last weekend! It was our second try as my poor camera (also known as the 4th child!) suffered a fairly catastrophic failure the first time we met. Ouch. It was worth the wait though and it was so difficult to choose just a couple of images for this teaser! Thanks for a wonderful session!

This one made me smile… but I am saving my favourite family shot to show with the completed gallery

Last week I had the honour of meeting this little guy. I’ve met a lot of babies and it constantly amazes me how distinct their personalities are. Those first days truly tell you the pure basis of everything that little human will become. This handsome young gent was awake AND happy for almost the entire session. In my game, awake will equal fussy 99% of the time. Not in this case. I also believe that not all baby smiles are gas…it’s just what your face does when life rocks!!

This little man was in fact the biggest newborn I have ever met! And he was mellow and even a little bit smiley for me. As the youngest of four, I think his laid back style will help him chill out in the eye of the storm It was a fun morning hanging out with his mum and aunty and can’t wait to catch up again soon!
