From time to time I am so blown away by a photographer that I feel like I need to do the world a favour by shouting from the rooftops about their awesomeness!!

ANNA B of annab photography is without doubt one of the most talented maternity and newborn photographers in the country. Her work is simple and beautiful. It looks wonderful blown up BIG and printed on canvas. And she has the knack…she is a baby whisperer for sure!! I really do think that you southerners are so lucky to have her right there in Melbourne ready and waiting to capture the final moments of your pregnancy and the first magical moments of your baby’s life and your new family.

Now, go have a look at her blog and website. And then do your friends a really big favour and tell them to go look too! Right now she is running a special and you (or your Victorian friends and family) would be CRAZY to miss it. Really, just nuts. And with her kind permission, here is a sample of her work:

Disclaimer: I have been lucky enough to have Anna mentor me in my own newborn photography so I do know her – but that makes not a jot of difference to how incredible she is!!

This past weekend we headed up to the mountains with our whole family to celebrate ‘Christmas in July’ – just so we could experience a cold Christmas together! Of course Santa dropped in and we enjoyed a massive hot Christmas dinner. But the novelty of that was really nothing compared to the star of the show: The Gold Coast Hinterland. We stayed in hewn timber cabins at the very top/end of a high mountain ridge and could see for miles! And the sunset…. words cannot describe how awesome that was! That’s ok, I took a picture so I can just show you lol :) Of course I had to torture at least one of my kids with a super quick teeny tiny ‘proper’ picture. She was a good sport about it and let me take about 5 shots. She even looked at me for a couple hehe. Anyway, if you’ve never done it, go stay on top of a mountain, without your computer, phone, tv or ipod. Just look and listen and unwind. It’s incredible medicine!

Little Miss G wasn’t all that keen on staying still but she would stay in one spot to lay some loving on her favourite toy! It was sooo cute! Her impersonation of her faithful dog was probably even cuter though :)

Yesterday I spent the morning with the C family. I first met this family in person when little G was just a newborn and now here she is for her 1 year old portraits!  This little lady is such a special little girl – she loves everyone and chats away to whomever will give her a moment.  Here they are, G and her Mum and Dad!IMG_0514-Edit 1 blogIMG_0496-Edit 1 blogIMG_0487-Edit 1 blog
